Valid Blue Card Holder

Rohan started learning drums in 2016, when he was in grade 9 at the young age of 14. He got really into Twenty One Pilots and Bring me the Horizon, which introduced Rohan to different styles of music and drumming that he hadn’t heard before. Rohan joined his first band in 2018, which was a cat empire/ska inspired covers band with a few horns players. The band continued until the horns players left school in 2019, and Rohan and the lead singer formed into Cardboard Cutouts.

Rohan is the drummer and one of the founding members of Australian alt-rock band Cardboard Cutouts, from Toowoomba, QLD. His drumming focuses on supporting the band's songs with a balance of subtlety and energy, helping to bring out the emotional shifts in their music.

While the band's guitars draw from alt-rock and Midwest emo influences, Rohan's style also incorporates rhythmic patterns and double-kick work inspired by metal genres, adding extra drive and complexity when the songs call for it. He often uses rudiment-based grooves to add texture without overpowering the song.

Rohan started Cardboard Cutouts with guitarist and vocalist Eliot Argus during high school and has recently completed a 12-date tour across Australia, helping the band grow their presence on the live circuit.

He has recorded drums on over 26 tracks, including multiple EPs and a full-length album with Cardboard Cutouts, as well as a progressive metal EP with his previous project, Aeon Nexus.
